I hope each and every one of you have a lovely day and get to spend it with families, friends, and lots of good food. Thanksgiving always makes me get excited about yummy food, but what’s even more important than yummy food is the opportunity to remember and thank the Lord for all He’s given us. And He is so good, so kind, and so generous, isn’t He?
I’m thankful for so many things this year (including all of you guys!) If I listed everything I’m thankful for, this blog post would be way too long, and y’all would be stuck here for way too long. So I’ll just mention five out of the myriad things I’m thankful for!
Most of you know how much I love music. It’s just amazing to think that the Lord gave us this wonderful gift that’s so deep, so moving, and so orderly and perfect. And we get to praise Him with it! He gives us so many good and beautiful things in this life, doesn’t He?
You knew this one was coming, didn’t you? But stories are just such a blessing – we learn and gain so much enjoyment from them? And writing … wow. I am so thankful to be given this wonderful honor to write and publish books. It’s pretty astounding to really think about.
This is the one you really appreciate when you’re not feeling well. But it’s so easy to take feeling good for granted, and it’s easy to forget how much the Lord sustains us every single day. So even when I’m not feeling great, there is still a cause to be thankful, for He still sustains me!
I can’t say enough here. I’m so thankful for a loving, supportive, and devoted family I get to live my life with! I love them all so very much. 🙂
He’s the most important here. All of the good things He gives us are simply shadows of Him Who is Goodness Himself! Without Him, I’d have no hope, no purpose, no life. I’d be dwelling in darkness and confusion. Yet He saves all those Who trust Him and gives them eternal life, forgiveness of sins, and adoption as His very own children. Oh what a wonderful Savior!
What are you thankful for?
Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: Come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: It is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, And into his courts with praise: Be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; And his truth endureth to all generations.
