When Tides Turn by Sarah Sundin

Now that I’ve finished this book, I’m all caught up on Sarah Sundin’s series, and I’m kind of bummed I’m going to have to wait 6 months to a year for a new book from her. Some of her books I absolutely loved (the Wings of Glory namely), and some of them fell a little flat for me. This book was one of those that fell flat.

I was originally intrigued by this book because of the subject matter. I knew next to nothing about Ukraine in the early 20th century, and this book really dove deep into that area of study.
Selah by Lisa Tawn Bergren

Having read the first and second books of this series, I was interested to see how Selah’s story turned out. The second book, Verity, introduced Jedediah in the last book, I anticipated really liking Jed’s character and his plot.

This was one of my first Colleen Coble books, and I chose it because I needed something more chill than the last book I read. And, in a way, it was more relaxing. Somewhat.
For Such a Time by Kate Breslin

Ok. This was interesting. I honestly don’t even know what to rate this book, because it just wasn’t what I expected. So a little background – I’ve read two other books by Kate Breslin, and though I enjoyed one more than the other, they were both nice reads, not too different from your usual Christian historical fiction books.
This was different.
